  1. Grandma, I applaude you on your journey, a journey inward to the place called the soul. The pain of the journey is worth all the joy, when we finally come to the place as women, women who have survived the pain of life. What joy I have found in knowing that my experience shared may help another on her journey, knowing there is joy at the other side. Thank you Grandma Julia for sharing your story and your pain. Pain shared is pain lessoned.

  3. Well,In my opinion you have exellent writing skills.I personally don't think I have very good writing skills. However, when I first put that pen in my hand so many ideas run through my head about what to write.I sometimes doubt myself ,but I have learned to love myself and everything that I do.I have a really bad habit when writing,I don't re-read unless I really have to.Somewhere in that crazy brain of mine I think re-reading is crazy.

  4. Thank you Krystal for putting faith in my writing skills. Re-reading the things you write down can often be full of surprises. It is an encounter with how your mind really works. Try it sometime. About doubting yourself, I guess everybody does go into that moment sometimes. I don't think it is bad. It helps keep you feet on the ground and challenges you to into self introspection.

Do visit again sometimes and yes, just get your blog going. Good luck!

  10. Grandma Julia
This has been an inspirational reading for me! Thank you so much!
For one, I have lost faith in God entirely, for my experiences just proved it all as useless.
Second, my faith in elderly wisdom was diminishing, for I've had the worst kind of elderly citizens as my neighbors, ones who have enjoyed destroying my family and harassed my grandfather till the year of his passing away. All because they wanted his piece of land. Today I only feel pity and am disgusted at their presence. Have they taught the same shameless greed to their grandson?

Grandma Julia, I have cried innumerable nights looking out for elderly people who can still inspire and motivate and challenge the younger ones to do better for our world. I have missed my grandparents, for they had showed my brother and me a global perspective, they gave us thoughts and principles that we live on. I felt helpless when I saw my grandfather fight for justice and accusations and cases that ruined his career. But tonight I will not cry myself to sleep.
You have inspired me to move on. your story gives me hope to not sit and despair, strengthen the soul and lead a better life.
    Thank you again Grandma Julia.

  13. Grandma Julia, I've been reading through your blogs and they paint the picture of someone I have known my whole life. This entry in particular caused a flood of memories involving the stories of my grandparents - their pains and their joys from childhood till their last days. I literally pester any family I find that can share with me a little bit more about who they were and what made them those people. What you write is a joy that I plan to share with others. Bless you (and please excuse my poor spelling).

  17. Thanks for leaving a nice comment on my blog several weeks back. It's nice to read a down to earth touching blog such as yours - a break for me, where I read, publish and participate in tech blogs/web sites/forums, etc.

I think your writing is skillful, from the heart, with a touch of emotion. I have added your blog to my favorites, which I will read from time to time, as a form of relaxation to read...
